Vulnerabilities of global navigation satellite systems
Vulnerabilities of global navigation satellite systems
Samenvatting
Global Navigation Systems, like GPS, are widely used for positioning, timing and many other topics in both the civil and military world. Such a system in an extraordinarily useful utility that is inexpensive to use, but on the other hand, it is a technology that introduces major and often times poorly understood vulnerabilities. This paper discusses the architecture of these navigation systems and deals with threats by means of examples of the recent past. Furthermore, a study on the vulnerability of GPS with consequences for artillery deployment and countermeasures is discussed.
