Samenvatting

This paper describes the interest for financial control within the Ministry of Defense and the operational commands during the final years of the previous century and the first few of the present one. It specifically considers the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee from a Services perspective. Also the relation with the Central Staff is discussed. It is an account of the way inwhich assessment of the financial management by the departmental accountancy service and the Court of Audit prompts action and reaction from the parties involved.
