Water of Life
Water of Life
Samenvatting
The current water management of the Ooijpolder is focused on discharging the excess domestic water to the Waal. This takes place by one (or in heavy rain two) pumps. Due to safety standards it is mandatory to have two additional pumps which can support the discharge of the water in case of extreme rainfall (1 x per 1500 years). Through this legislation, there are already two generations long unused pumps in the pumping station. By filling in this current water management system in a different way we can create opportunities for the existing landscape. The water of life concept is responding to this.
