Samenvatting

This study investigates the relationship between the Stoke Impact Scale (SIS) and the Motricity Index (MI) in relation to strength.
The goal is to identify what information the SIS can give; it is hypothesized that some patients have a wrong perception of their function. Therefore, the correlation between the perceived strength (with SIS) and the objectively measured strength (with MI) is investigated.
Results show that although there is a high correlation between both tools, some patients have a wrong perception of their function.
Such outcomes underline the importance of using self reported outcome measures such as the SIS to have knowledge about the patients experiences and perceptions, improving the quality care.
