Samenvatting

Many of the Virtual Fitting Rooms, which are currently available, are built on various methods. Those are mostly virtual avatar or a machine that uses Microsoft Kinect camera, mainly enhancing the experience of in-store shops. The main drawbacks are the high cost of the facility or the inaccurate capturing process, and the lack of a virtual mirror, which limits the presentation to a virtual avatar. By utilizing mobile cameras of smart devices, especially with iOS smart devices, it becomes possible to track the movements of a body, customize body measurements, and create a real-time interactive garment. The project is implemented in Unity3D, a programming environment for 3D applications. The human body tracking feature in AR foundation, a native plug-in in Unity3D, is used for the tracking process combined with the camera on smart devices. Taking a closer look at the results, several 3D cloth models were created in Marvelous Designer, a garment creation programming, and then rigging and weight painting in Blender, a free and open-source 3D modeling application. The pieces of a garment are based on a female 3D model. The pieces of a garment are based on a female 3D model. The clothes are adapted to the body of the user in front of the mobile camera during runtime. In addition, cloth physics is taking care of a realistic representation. The application is built for iOS smart devices such as iPhones or iPad. Furthermore, the Virtual Fitting Room 's interaction features are also highly regarded.
