the case study of Sanga Town, Margibi County, LiberiaSamenvatting
There are arguments among scholars that a vital tool for enhancing the resilience of smallholder farmer households in vulnerable communities is microfinance access. However, there are reports that the shock of the Covid-19 pandemic has rendered microfinance institutions inefficient. Historically, Liberia has significantly been impacted by the 2014-2016 Ebola virus. Also, the Covid-19 pandemic has recorded over 85 deaths, and its restrictions have paused agricultural activities, the principal livelihood for over 60% of the country’s population. Sanga town in Margibi County is facing food insecurity due to a lack of support for agricultural activities. This research objective is to inform the commissioner, Welthungerhilfe – Liberia, on factors that influence the C/FSLA from enhancing smallholder farmer households’ resilience during the shock of Covid-19 in Sanga Town.
