Rwanda is landlocked and does not have other resources, so the population depends on agriculture as the main economic activity. It is from agriculture that the majority of the people get food for their survival. However, people in the country have been practising subsistence agriculture using traditional methods. This type of agriculture could not produce enough food to satisfy the consumption needs of citizens in the country. To address this, the government of Rwanda introduced digital technology (mobile apps) in agriculture to ensure food security in the country. Considering much efforts invested in this digital technology by the government, this study aims at describing the contribution that the use of digital agricultural technology in agriculture brings to address food unavailability and inaccessibility in Kayonza District, one of the districts of Rwanda in which this technology is used.
