Samenvatting

Over the two past decades, several nutrition related interventions have been implemented by both Government and its developmental partners with the view of addressing childhood stunting in Ghana and the Northern Region in particular. Despite these interventions the phenomenon is still prevalentin especially in the Northern Region. The prevalence of stunting has often be attributed to several factors including the observance of sociocultural practices such as food taboos. The study set out to investigate the impact of taboos on the diet of children under five with a view of recommendingappropriate interventions needed to reduce stunting in the Bole District.
