As sustainability is a huge topic of discussion in the modern world, businesses and consumers alike are looking for ways to be more sustainable in their daily exitances. The food industry is particularly important in the future of sustainability, in which SMEs andmanufacturers are crucial actors. Moreover, the UK can be seen as a key market for environmentally sustainable SMEs, and as a global market in general. While there’s research available regarding consumer’s environmental sustainability attitudes in the UK, it is never gearedtowards a specific industry, and does not provide useful insights to manufacturers regarding how sustainability efforts can help their organizations. Thus, the goal of the research was to discover howconsumers attitudes towards SME environmental sustainability efforts can benefit food manufacturers selling packaged goods in the UK.
