The aim of this research was to determine what pre, during and post-castrationmanagement factors could be identified as influencing the development of postcastration complications in horses situated at the Summerveld Training Centre over a period of approximately 5 years. The factor pre-castration that was influential in the development of post-castration complications was the veterinarian that performed the castration procedure.
